Committee of College and University Administrators (CoCUA)

Rationale

  1. The main purpose of the TETA is the promotion and expansion of educational theatre in Texas.
  2. College and University theatre administrators can benefit by opportunities for interaction and information sharing with their colleagues in other colleges and universities.
  3. New issues and challenges are constantly arising, and having the opportunity to benefit by the experience of colleagues in similar situations can be very beneficial.
  4. Networking with colleagues can enhance the quality of instruction in educational theatre training centers statewide.

Policy

The Committee of College and University Administrators shall:

  1. Facilitate interaction among college and university theatre program administrators.
  2. Expand its membership to include theatre program administrators from two-year and four-year colleges and universities.
  3. Actively recruit to TETA membership college and university theatre administrators.
  4. Offer programming for theatre administrators involved in higher education.
  5. Advocate for the needs of college and university theatres within the state.
  6. Support these college theatre programs by any appropriate means.

Officers

The chair shall be selected by the members of the committee and shall work with the Vice President of Colleges and Universities to schedule convention sessions and meetings.

Members

Membership shall include:

  1. The chief administrator of each theatre program in Texas colleges and universities.
  2. Interested individuals.

Objectives

The COCUA shall:

  1. Encourage the sharing of ideas and strategies for theatre administration.
  2. Facilitate the dissemination of information
  3. Promote workshops and conventions sessions specifically designed to assist theatre program administrators.

Meetings

  1. Annual meetings at the TETA convention.
  2. Meetings during the year as appropriate.

Activities

The CoCUA shall:

  1. Conduct seminars and symposiums for members.
  2. Share information.
  3. Share employment opportunities available in their home and colleges and universities.
  4. Share alerts about legislative issues that would or could impact higher education theatre programs.
