Curriculum Committee

The Curriculum Committee exists to help define effective, useful, and integrated curricula for Theatre education in the state of Texas. It is comprised of representatives from each interest group within TETA. The committee will participate in an annual review and facilitate implementation of curriculum for theatre arts. The operating objectives of the Curriculum Committee are to:

  • Develop rationale to determine effectiveness of present curricula.
  • Develop and make available model lessons.
  • Find methods to emphasize higher level thinking skills through instructional strategy.
  • Design various tests to measure effectiveness of theatre training.

Teachers interested in serving on the Curriculum Committee, please contact Laura Haygood via email at laura.haygood@nisd.us. Our focus for this term will be revising the New Teacher Packet, developing activities that incorporate higher level thinking skills and facilitating training for K=5 instruction.
