PREFACE
Welcome to TETA and to educational theatre. You will find that you have entered a professional organization where many people are eager to assist you. This New Teacher Packet is just one of those efforts to make your classroom experience successful.
We have attempted to gather information, forms and ideas that will provide a starting place for you as you begin teaching theatre. There are several duplications and a few contradictions because the information in this packet came from many different sources. We have found that determining a place to start is the difficult part and hope that we have provided that for you. We assume that you will adapt and adjust activities and procedures to fit your teaching style as well as come up with new and exciting methods and ideas that you can then share with us in a TETA workshop.
This packet has been set up so that you can add to it. We have attempted to be practical and thorough. However this is not "everything you need to know about teaching theatre." The pages have been printed on one side of the paper only so that they are easily copied, if desired.
If any of the contributors or any of the members of the curriculum committee can be of further assistance to you, please let us know. We wish the very best for you and your students.
